Today I checked out You Tube. I was interested in finding out the value it served to classroom teachers. The wealth of information that I found on a variety of subjects that I teach in my resource room was astounding. For example, on the topic of planting, I was able to view actual lessons on how teachers would go about teaching this unit. I wanted to know which seed grows quickly so that students can actually experiment and watch their plants thrive. I had the same experience with lessons in phonemic awareness, reading comprehension, writing, and math. This is definitely a Google tool that I plan on utilizing in the future. Have you had any experience using You Tube while planning your lessons?

That would have been a cute idea:) I used YouTube in my lessons as an intro video for the lesson, to grab their attention and motivate the students. It definitely is a great tool for learning about practically anything. And for today's students who practically need media to learn, it's a great tool for the classroom.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of using YouTube as a motivation prior to the lesson, Raquelle. Thanks for the tip!
